Energy Efficient Products

There are a wide variety of energy efficient products on the market today, and some that have been around for a long time. One of the most recognized and widely used is the basic solar powered calculator that has been used by school children and workers for decades. This is one of the first practical uses of solar power in a consumer sense.

Other energy efficient products use sunlight to power their functions, but there are other forms of energy that can be used. Flashlights can now be powered by motion. A simple shake back and forth and the light has power. Shake it enough and there is enough light for a few hours. This design is being incorporated into other small gadgets such as cell phones to allow them to charge when the owner is walking or moving around.

Another way to be energy efficient products is by using much less power than current products. The major players here are household appliances such as fridges, freezers, dishwashers, washers, and driers as well as furnaces and air conditioning. Minimizing power consumption is the best and easiest way to appease Mother Nature.
